Kaligandaki River Rafting

Tour Details

“The mighty Kali”

With exciting white water rapids, spectacular mountain views, traditional villages, endless suspension bridges, waterfalls, pristine jungle rich in wildlife, deep gorges, cultural temples, and beautiful white sandy beaches for camp, we consider this to be the best all-round river adventure in Nepal. Named after “Kali” the goddess of destruction, the Kaligandaki is said to be one of Nepal’s most holy rivers. Originating high on the Tibetan Plateau the “Mighty Kali” plunges down through the Himalayas, carving out one of the deepest gorges in the world between Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Mountains.

Tour Plan

Day 1 : Pokhara to Maldhunga (Baglung)

After Breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara, you will drive to Maldhunga by private bus, then at first we will pump on the raft and rafting around. After lunch it is straight into the grade 4 rapid little Brother followed quickly by Big Brother. We camp at one of nature’s five-star sites with mind-blowing views and dancing waterfalls.

Day 2 : Rafting

Today is continuous grade 3 to 4 world-class white water with rapids like Rafter’s Refund and Oar Breaker. Wave trains and holes abound early in the day so watch it, you don’t want to flip! Adrenalin junkies knock yourself out but don’t forget to keep glancing back upstream to catch views of the amazing Annapurnas. Once camped, the village of Seti Beni is just a short walk upstream and guarantees to delight with its stone flagged lanes and curious youngsters skylarking.

Day 3 : Rafting and drive back to Pokhara

As we continue downstream, the river cliffs narrow easily above us and we enter a somber canyon glistening with wet black rocks. You experience what can only be seen from the water, so drink it all in as we drift towards our take-out point and drive to Pokhara.
